Setting the course for the future: Josef Heuel GmbH welcomes a new member to its Management Board

Gerald Mayrhofer is the new Managing Director at HEUEL LOGISTICS

We are successfully continuing our sustainable development and have appointed Gerald Mayrhofer to our Management Board.

By expanding our Management Board, we are responding to the increased demands of our customers and taking a future-oriented approach. In his new role, Mayrhofer has been responsible for areas including sales, development and contract logistics since October 2022. He also supervises the expansion of our sea and air freight activities as the new business areas of the logistics group.

The change in the Management Board is the result of the company’s successful expansion in the field of overland traffic and the extension of its service portfolio. A special focus is currently being placed on the further development of contract logistics and sea and air freight activities in order to offer customers tailored logistic concepts from a single source. After merging with J. Dahmen GmbH & Co. KG, a company specialising in overland traffic, warehouse and parcel logistics as well as sea and air freight, at the beginning of the year, the HEUEL LOGISTICS Group now also offers the competence, skills and structures required in this area. “A key strength that Gerald Mayrhofer brings to the company is his experience in managing service areas such as contract and sea freight logistics. His expert perspective from the outside enables us to optimise our processes even further”, declares Heuel.

The qualified forwarding agent Gerald Mayrhofer studied International Management as a part-time course alongside employment and completed his studies with a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Salzburg. Mayrhofer can look back on more than 25 years of professional experience in the international transport business: He spent 10 years working in the management team of DB Schenker in Austria in roles including Key Account Manager and Head of Contract Logistics. Mayrhofer, who was born in Austria, then took over the management of international transport logistics at Red Bull, where he was responsible for restructuring the company’s global transport processes. As the Managing Director of the company Senator International Speditions GmbH in Hamburg, Germany, he was responsible for its organisational and human resources development, global sea freight and contract logistics for eight years.

Within the Hellmann Logistics Group, Mayrhofer was the head of the global sea freight division. His most recent position saw him working as a member of the Management Board of the Splendid Group, in which he was the manager responsible for all logistics activities. When asked about his new role, Mayrhofer emphasises that: “The HEUEL LOGISTICS Group is characterised by its passion for freight forwarding, its values and its vision, all of which makes it an excellent player among German small and medium-sized businesses.
